It's a date! Scrabble tonight...bring your A GAME! hahaha. Bring it on! (these pictures were taken with the old game-not the new Deluxe Turntable Scrabble!) ;o)

Here's the last one I tried to post--for the "Use your stash" challenge. It says: The kids had fun playing with these little fans they got from Aunt Mary for Christmas. (Christmas 2005)". I'm not big on all the bright colors of icky cardstock. I'm thinking I should have gone with textured card instead but I was trying to avoid having to chop up my 12x12 sheets. Alyssa looked upset when she discovered that I had chopped up one of their hair bands to use on my tag. So I just told her that it was so stretched out it was about to break anyway, and that was the truth. Oh, and I am really having fun stitching on my pages with my sewing machine! Bet Lonnie wishes I would just learn how to sew real stuff, like dresses!

I just finished another layout but I can't scan it for about 24 hours as it has wet paint! And I couldn't get the last layout to post here. I don't know why they have to make that so difficult.

Yay! The weekend is on the way! I think I'll be challenging my hubby to another game of scrabble! It gets really viscious--hehehe. And he keeps track of how many games we have played on the new board.

Wow, look at the time! I have to get up in the morning, you know!

Thursday, March 30, 2006

Well, yesterday afternoon I was washing the dishes and while trying to put a glass in the dish drainer, it slipped out of my hand and hit another glass and broke. I picked up the pieces, threw them away, and continued washing dishes thinking, "at least I didn't cut myself." Well, it turnes out that I did cut my pinky finger on my right hand. Somehow I didn't feel a thing and didn't notice till several minutes later that my finger was bleeding. From there my day just went down hill, but I won't get into that.

DID SOMEONE SAY *SCRAPBOOK CONTEST*??

Okay, yeah, I did it. I entered a scrapbooking contest today. My first ever. I know my chance of winning is about "this much" but you never know. And I should point out (in case the plagerism police are reading this--LOL) that it was NOT SCRAPLIFTED. The layout I submitted was the first *real* page I did. It is 100% mine. It's the one that really got me into scrapbooking.

Started and got sucked into another layout at midnight. Stayed up too late. Now I'm hungry, so I better go to bed. I'll post the layout when it's finished.

I ADDED LINKS TO MY SIDEBAR!

Little computer illiterate me figured out how to add a links section to my sidebar tonight...all by myself! (patting myself on the back) YAY! LOL.

Wow, was Lonnie ever late getting home from work tonight. I think it was like 9:30. Things were crazy with 2 babies screaming in the living room and four older kids running around the house playing and shouting and me (wanting to scream) trying to get supper ready. And no relief in sight! What am I going to do when he has to start going on business travel with this new position. AAAGHHHH!

You know, I think I've already had enough excitement for the entire week.

Sunday, March 26, 2006

I'm sooo tired...too many late nights the last week, I guess. I even got a nap today while Lonnie took the kids over to the playground at the community center (just walking distance from our place). Spring break is over and I should probably get some sleep tonight so we don't oversleep in the morning and miss the bus.

I wonder what exciting things this next week will bring.......

Happy (50) birthday today, Mom--grandma!! Mahlon wanted to know what the other side of the hill looks like! Of course, dad put him up to that one! LOL! We celebrated for you with a new Veggie Tales DVD: Sheerluck Holmes and the Golden Ruler! We found the DVD at the grocery store today and the kids couldn't wait to watch it. We usually save this kind of stuff for birthday presents I guess, so Lonnie told them when it is somebodies birthday we can watch it. Ha Ha. I said, "hey, it's Logan's half-birthday today, exactly! And it's my mom's birthday today!" Logan, Kaitlynn and Mahlon are still awake watching. Alyssa fell asleep before we put it on, and she's gonna be mad that everyone watched it without her.

Went to JoAnn's today to use my coupons that were only good today and tomorrow. Of course, I had a bunch of coupons but they all said one coupon per customer. I found some thread on clearance, all different colors, to stitch my scrap pages. Used a coupon to get some more photo mounting squares. Then sent Lonnie in with another coupon to get me the refill sticker cartridge for my Xyron 150.

This is the page I started last night and finished this morning. It was supposed to be for a challenge to use multi-size and unusual size photos but I missed that one. But it did qualify for the *use your stash* challenge for using patterned papers. Had problems posting here again. Wow, you can't read the poem so here it is: Walk alongside me, Daddy, and hold my little hand. I have so many things to learn that I don't yet understand. Teach me things to keep me safe from dangers every day. Show me how to do my best at home, at school, at play. Every child needs a gentle hand to guide them as they grow. So walk alongside me, Daddy. We have a long way to go. -unkown. Oh, the title along the side says "Hand~In~Hand and done in this cool font I discovered in Microsoft Works. Some of the letters have hearts on them. So cute! I love how it turned out with the pink papers and the black borders on the small pics. Very happy with this one.

I should be in bed right now cause unfortunately Lonnie has to go into work in the morning from about 6-9 a.m. I never did decide if I wanted to try to meet him up there afterwards to do some shopping, or if he should just come home first. I'm very indecisive(sp?) I'll probably be too tired now to do that :(

We had Tuna Helper for lunch. I threw a can of peas in the mix to "sneak in" the veggies, cause I'm sure they wouln't have eaten them as a side. I like tuna and the kids all eat this without complaints, but Lonnie hates tuna. So tuna helpers are reserved for weekday lunches with the kids. It makes a quick, easy meal.

Baked some double-chocolate chunk cookies last night before getting to bed at (shock!) a more decent time (12:30 a.m.!) I tried to work on scrapping stuff when the house was quite, but I think I was just too tired and burned out. Plus, I didn't have the sizes of pictures I needed to do the pages I wanted to get done. I need to get to Super WalMart and their picture-maker. Or maybe I just need to figure out this nice new Photosmart printer I got. Too bad it's easier on the budget to run to WalMart and print out just the pictures you need than it is to shell out a huge chunk all at once to buy ink and paper for your home printer! I have used my printer to print out a few pictures directly off my SD card.

At 2:oo a.m. Lonnie got up and left for work because he had some things that HAD to get done. It would be nice if he could take off and be home earlier this afternoon. I doubt that will happen, and I know he was planning on stopping to get a haircut on his way home. I hope 12-hour days are not becoming the norm! Sure seems like it this week.

At 2:45 a.m. I woke up to crying in the next room. My 4-yr. old, Alyssa, had puked all over herself. So had to get her in the shower and get the bedding taken care of. It is not fun washing puke out of someones hair. YUCK! We finally got back to bed at 3:30 and she hasn't puked again since--yeah!

Woooohoooooo! I finally figured it out...adding a picture to my post...and it only took me five hours!! Maybe next time it won't be so painful!! This is a picture of the scrap page I just created last night. That's my hubby...he's so cute! He sent me an email asking me to email the page to him at work! And I thought he didn't care about my scrapbooking. hmmmmmmmm. Maybe he's gonna set it as the wallpaper on his computer or show it to everyone there. Haha. He's probably gonna put it in his Yahoo albums. Who really knows.

I can't believe I was up until at least 5:15 this morning before I finally got to bed. Lonnie got up to get ready for work so I ended up making him an omelet and a sandwhich--which was supposed to be for lunch--only I forgot that he didn't need lunch today. Silly me. I guess food is being provided for them.

Trying to post a picture. Is it gonna work this time? please...please...please work!

Wednesday, March 22, 2006

So I just finished up a scrapbook layout that was so much fun to put together! I can't believe how it just moved right along, and I was done with it in under two hours! That's a pretty big accomplishment for me considering it can sometimes take that long just to pick out the right paper combos to use! I just love how this turned out!! It's a pic of my hubby I just took tonight so he would have a picture to use in the profile of the blog he just started. It worked just perfectly with the woven "Head Over Heals" label I bought at our new Super Walmart which just opened today...yay!
